Our clothing is inspired by the movement and majesty of the wearer. Our goal is to create a unique kind of activewear- comfortable, functional, flattering and able to be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
Our garments are produced in a way that respects the people and resources that create it. We don't believe in taking advantage of people. We hope to create a company that can have a positive impact on as many people as possible.
We manufacture our clothing in the USA, and work with other companies that share the same values that we do. Only about 2% of clothing sold in America is made here in the US. We hope to help change that statistic.
Our first collection uses imported textiles from a Green America Gold certified fabric supplier. Like us, transparency, sustainability, and high ethical and environmental standards are at the core of their business philosophy. Their fabrics are third-party certified and they visit their factories at least twice a year to ensure that working conditions are safe, wages are fair, health insurance and maternity leave are offered and no child labor is used. Sadly, millions of children are employed around the world in the textile industry, and many employees are subjected to dangerous working conditions and other forms of unfair treatment.
We have incorporated charitable giving into our business from the very start. You will find one-of-a-kind rugs for sale on our website that we make out of our scrap materials. We supplement our own scraps with remnants from the Sari industry in India. The silk remants are collected from factories and sewn together by women's collectives, helping women earn a living and achieve financial independence. 100% of the proceeds of these items goes to a good cause. We will always support one local (Salt Lake City) and one national organization.
From fabric to hang tags to labels to zippers, we look for ways to be as "green" as possible. The certified fabric used for our debut collection is 47.5 % organic cotton, 47.5% soy protein fiber and 5% spandex. Organic cotton is produced without the use of pesticides and other toxic chemicals. Soy protein fiber is made from the byproduct of an abundant resource without the use of toxic agents.
We are proud to use American suppliers that prioritize making a positive social and environmental impact. We hope to use a variety of sustainable and ethically produced fabrics in future collections, and are always on the look-out for eco-friendly fabrics created from start to finish here in the U.S.
We don't let our scraps go to waste because we believe it's our job to find a way to create as little waste as possible. Our labels are printed on GOTS certified organic cotton and our hang tags will grow flowers if planted!
