About Our Materials...
It is our goal at State of Bodhi to introduce our customers to beautiful, comfortable, earth-friendly, and responsibly made fabrics. We are committed to only using materials that are either organic or sustainable because we believe that the process is just as important as the end product. Our products reflect mindfulness of people and planet.
Our debut collection uses fabrics made from organic cotton and soy protein fiber. Without the use of harsh pesticides and other chemicals, organic cotton is much gentler to the earth and vastly more healthy for the farmers and laborers who grow and pick the fiber. Soy protein fiber is made from the byproduct of an abundant resource using a non-toxic auxiliary agent. This textile is biodegradable, and no harsh chemicals or formaldehyde are used to create it. The organic cotton/soy protein fiber fabric is certified by Ecocert.
Our fabrics all use Procion low-impact fiber reactive dyes. Non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes not only impact the environment but the well-being of the people working hard to produce these beautiful textiles. Due to the qualities of natural fibers and dyes, slight variances occur and can be expected if you purchase garments produced during different seasons using different lots of fabric.
We use notions like zippers and elastics minimally, and source from companies that share our values of social and environmental responsibility.
We take great care in using labels, hangtags and packaging that are as eco friendly as possible. State of Bodhi labels are printed in the US on GOTS certified organic cotton. Our hangtags are made from seed paper, meaning no matter where you live in the U.S. they can be used to grow flowers. The hangtag string is made from 100% hemp, and all the packaging components are either 100% PCW recyclable or compostable.
We are eager to use a variety of organic, recycled, and sustainable textiles in our future collections and hope you fall in love with eco and ethical fashion as much as we have.
Compassion looks good on you.
